Coverage on the wedding day begins with the bridal preparations. This is the perfect time to capture stunning images of the all-important moment when you step into your dress and become a bride, and all the little details that you have spent so much time and effort planning.
The fabric of your wedding dress, your bridal bouquet, your beautiful wedding shoes and the preparations of your maidens – all these can sometimes be lost in the hustle and bustle of the big day. However, it's these smaller things that are sometimes the most evocative, and we'll make sure that they're yours to remember for years to come.
At this point, we'll also try to make time to capture some stunning contemporary portraits of you with the mother and father of the bride and your bridesmaids. It's also possible to book a second photographer if you would like both the bride and groom preparations photographed at the same time.
Please don’t worry though – during this time we are very unobtrusive, and will discretely shoot in the background. Using this candid style, we're able to capture the true emotion while you make your final preparations, and record those beautiful moments as they unfold that you didn’t even know happened.
After detailing the bridal preparations, we'll then head over to the ceremony venue and meet with the groom and his groomsmen. Here we take both formal and informal portraits while they await the arrival of the bride. During this time we also photograph the arrival of your guests.
This is one of our favourite parts! We are there as you make you big arrival, capturing the moment that you step out of the car and into the ceremony venue, and the smiles and applause of your guests.
Your church or civil ceremony will be discreetly photographed, with us capturing timeless images of those important moments – the first time the groom sees the bride walking down the aisle, the exchanging of vows, the giving of the rings and, of course, your first kiss as husband and wife.
Coverage of the ceremony is at the discretion of the minister or registrar, and it is important that you discuss what they will allow at your pre-wedding meeting with them.
After the ceremony, we will capture some photographs of you both as a newly married couple, before moving on to the reception venue for a well earned glass of champagne! We are not traditional ‘line up and shoot’ photographers, and although despite the popularity of our candid, reportage style of photographer, we do understand there will always be some group shots required. Again, we try to make this as fun as possible, and they can be as formal or as informal as you wish.
By this time, the bride and groom will usually want to take a few moments to themselves to go over the details of the day and take in the special moments that have unfolded so far. At this point, our photographer will take you off somewhere private in the grounds or within your wedding reception venue where you can have a glass of champagne and relax a little.
These photos are many couples' favourite record of their special day. As well as some posed shots where you will be given help and advice, our photographer will you some space, allowing us to capture those intimate moments that are natural and romantic.
