Norwich photography courses
We’re pleased to announce that we have started offering short courses for those wishing to learn photography at our Norwich studio. To begin with, we’re taking bookings for our two-week introductory course, ‘Getting to know your camera’, but keep checking backing back as we’ll be adding more soon!
Course 1 - Getting to know your camera
Special offer! 50% off usual price of £120 until the end of September. To make a booking or for more information, please contact us.
Just bought a digital SLR and feel a bit daunted by the mass of controls and buttons? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! With this 4 hour beginner’s course, we’ll teach you the basics of how to use your new kit. By the end, you’ll have ditched the point-and-shoot settings and discovered just how easy it is to take beautiful photos without relying on luck alone.
During the course, you’ll learn all about:
· Camera controls
· Camera settings
· Shutter speed
· Depth of field
· White balance
For the first session, we’ll start off in the studio and work on familiarising you with your camera. Once we’ve done that – which should only take an hour or so – we’ll head out to a few locations, such as the Norwich Cathedral or Elm Hill. Here you’ll be able to put what you’ve learnt so far into practice.
In the next session, we’ll recap the basics quickly and then move on to take a look at your images, giving you one-on-one practical advice on how you can improve. We may, depending on weather and lighting, head off on location again to try some more shots or fix any problems that have come up.
The emphasis with this course is on having fun and experimentation. Our studio is a very relaxed and informal environment, and our staff are very supportive and extremely knowledgeable. The joy of photography is that it’s about getting out and exploring what’s around you. With these two sessions, you’ll have all the tools you need to set off on your journey full of confidence.
